Last year, Super W champions the Rooster Chicken Fijiana Drua exposed a pair of siblings onto the women’s international stage and the Railumu sisters were one of them.

Susana and Setaita Railumu featured prominently for the Fijiana Drua helping them defend their Super W title.

This year, the youngest of the Railumu sisters, Adi Salaseini, is toiling hard to make a name for herself in the 7s circuit after making her Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s debut last week in the first leg of the Fiji Airways International Mini 7s Tournament that was held at Albert Park.

Adi Salaseini had previously played rugby alongside her sisters in the 15s format and this marked her first outing into the world of 7s.

Adi Salaseini says this is her first time playing 7s in national colours, and it was a very big moment for her when she made her debut last week.

She says there is a big difference between 15s and 7s and the main thing is speed which is what she needs to work on.

The 20-year-old says she is determined to impress Head Coach Saiasi Fuli during the Mini 7s tournament knowing this is the only chance she will get to prove herself.

She says the Fiji Airways International Mini 7s Tournament provided her with valuable exposure, allowing her to compete against renowned players and gain experience in international 7s rugby.

The second leg of the Fiji Airways International Mini 7s Tournament will be held at Churchill Park in Lautoka this Thursday and Friday with the USA women’s 7s team and the main Australian women’s 7s team joining the competition.
