Australian Pacific Training Coalition is committed to working with the whole committee inclusively and providing all kinds of help to people with disability in Fiji and across the region.

This was highlighted by the Country Director of ATPC Gareth McGrath while signing the Memorandum of Agreement at the National Council for Persons with Disabilities in Suva today.

He says the signing will take us further as we see what TVET has brought about in terms of education delivery for disabled people in Fiji.

He says ATPC is delighted to offer this support to the Fiji Vocational Technical Training Center for people with disabilities and hopes to work more closely to formalize a stronger relationship with the organization.

National Council for Persons with Disabilities Director Lemeki Cagilau thanked the Australian Government, APTC and TVET for implementing policies where a great milestone has been achieved as this will be a long-term partnership.

He says people with disabilities should not be left behind in terms of access to quality education and employment.

Cagilau says the help will assist disabled people in having a clear pathway of training from vocational training to tertiary training and in terms of employment.

He says there are more than 70 students who are being enrolled at the training centre.

He further adds that the courses at the training center include Computer Science, Agriculture Science, Fashion and Design, Cooking and Pastries and Shelter Workshop.

The training at the centre will start tomorrow at the National Council for Persons with Disabilities training centre in Suva.
