Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed- Khaiyum, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama and SODELPA MP Niko Nawaikula..

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama says he has said it before and he will say it again that the Attorney General and Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has his total support.

While answering the question on SODELPA MP Anare Jale’s question for reconsideration for the Provincial Councils to appoint their Chairpersons, Bainimarama stated to the opposition that the Attorney General has the full support of the members of the government.

Bainimarama says SODELPA should be embarrassed for allowing Niko Nawaikula talk about things he does not understand.

He says the government understands how their policies impact businesses and affects families and have talked to the experts that Nawaikula runs down.

The Prime Minister says they have a plan to secure Fiji’s place in the most important global economic recovery of our lifetime.

Nawaikula had earlier called on the government side to change the Minister for Economy if they want to improve the economic performance of the country.

While responding to the Minister for Economy’s statement on the first half of the government’s financial year, Nawaikula had said that a Minister for Economy needs to listen to advice from experts and not make ad hoc decisions.
