Floodwaters entered homes in Rifle Range, Lautoka early yesterday morning leaving families counting their losses and beginning clean-up efforts today.

Resident of Rifle Range Meli Yawayawa told fijivillage News that the floodwaters entered their home due to poor drainage, damaging belongings in the house.

He says while the water has now receded, many of their belongings have been damaged, and the family is assessing what can be saved as they begin cleaning up.

Yawayawa, who is the father of a young daughter, says it will be difficult for him and his family to recover from the losses and return to normal.

Members of the public who wish to assist the family can do so via M-PAiSA on 9834521.

Meanwhile, a resident of Vuda, Lautoka, Milika Marshall says the weather has cleared and residents are now clearing debris from their compounds and driveways.
