The Adi Cakobau School under-19 basketball side is the first team to qualify for the Vodafone Fiji Secondary School Basketball National Championship semi final in the girls’ division after securing 3 wins and topping their pool.

The side was pooled alongside Saint Joseph’s Secondary School, Fiji Agape Mission School and Latter Day Saints.

ACS U19 representative Senikau Taleitaki says coming into this competition, all they were focused on is to have fun and get through their pool matches.

Taleitaki says they had set out game plans to counter their opponents and it worked out well for them.

She says the team is made up mostly of netball players and athletes and it was through team work that they managed to get most of these players adapted to the game quickly.
