7 people have been arrested for unlawful possession of methamphetamine and cocaine on Thursday.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu says the drug raid was conducted in Waqadra in Nadi following the discovery of several plastic bags containing crystals believed to be methamphetamine and a bag containing white substances believed to be cocaine.

ACP Driu says they also seized more than $300, believed to be proceeds of crime.

He says the divisional operations continue to gather alleged proceeds of crime linked to illicit drugs which is the outcome of their efforts of disrupting and dismantling the illicit drug networks.

ACP Driu further says other arrests for unlawful possession were conducted in Nanuku Settlement in Vatuwaqa, Samabula, Tomuka in Lautoka, Dreketi Settlement in Lautoka, Varadoli in Ba, Nasivi Street in Tavua and behind the Labasa Market.

He adds we can make an impact on reducing the supply chain as every drug seizure and dollar earned by illegal means is important in breaking the circle.
