Four people were arrested in Jittu Estate as they were drunk during curfew hours and were also involved in a brawl while two others were arrested at the settlement for breaching curfew orders.

An 18-year-old was arrested and charged for crossing the containment area in Qauia, Lami without proper clearance.

Acting Police Commissioner, Rusiate Tudravu says 8 people were arrested for drinking kava together at Reba Circle, while three youths were arrested after found gambling in Laqere.

Three cases were recorded in the Eastern Division. An 18-year-old student was arrested for playing touch rugby in Davuilevu. Some others who were also playing fled the scene. Two were arrested at Vanuadina Village for drinking liquor.

Tudravu says it is sad to note that they continue to record breaches of health restrictions on a daily basis whereby majority are occurring within the containment areas.

He says police will continue to ensure that health restrictions are complied with and urges everyone to support ongoing efforts for the sake of their family and loved ones.
