Five men escaped serious injuries after two trucks were involved in a head-on collision along Queens Road near Emuri in Sigatoka yesterday.

Director Traffic Senior Superintendent of Police SSP Mitieli Divuana says the suspected driver allegedly lost control of his vehicle while driving towards Sigatoka causing his truck to veer onto the opposite lane which led to the head-on collision with another truck, driven by a 44-year-old man.

He says the 44-year-old man was travelling with three others.

The two drivers were transferred to the Lautoka Hospital where they remain admitted, while the three passengers were treated and discharged from the Sigatoka Hospital.

SSP Divuana says investigations continue and it is fortunate that no one lost their lives in the accident.
