48-year-old man passes away after head-on collision, while a 71-year-old man was crushed by a tractor

A 48-year-old man have passed away following an accident along Queens Road, near Semo village in Sigatoka last night.

Police say the victim was a passenger in a vehicle driven by a 42-year-old man.

It is alleged that a vehicle driven by a 44-year-old woman veered onto their lane resulting in a head-on collision.

The victim and the 42-year-old driver were rushed to the Sigatoka Hospital where the victim was pronounced dead on arrival while the driver was transferred to the Lautoka Hospital.

Investigations continue and the suspect will be questioned soon.

In another tragic accident, a 71-year-old man died after he was crushed under a tractor.

Police say the man was reversing the tractor from his driveway along Lum Street in Lautoka when he allegedly lost control, causing it to veer off the road and tumbled, trapping him underneath.

Investigations continue.
