47 cases recorded for breaching curfew orders and health restrictions over the last 24 hours

People from different households drinking grog or alcohol, playing cards or volleyball and loitering are some of the main reasons for the 47 arrests for breaching curfew orders and health restrictions over the last 24 hours.

Acting Police Commissioner, Rusiate Tudravu says the Southern Division recorded 41 cases.

Three men in their 40’s were found gathering in the Samabula area, six were found playing volleyball in the Colo-i-Suva area including a juvenile while two people were arrested along Bureta Street and Vatuwaqa for loitering.

A 19-year-old man was arrested with four other juveniles while sitting along Browning Street in Raiwaqa while a 24-year-old man was found loitering in Caubati.

Another case of breaching the health restrictions was recorded where 14 people were found playing cards in Nabua while a 17-year-old student was found loitering in Cunningham.

Four people were found drinking grog in Newtown while five people were arrested for loitering in Tadevo, Navua.

The Eastern Division recorded four cases where three were found drinking grog in Bau Road while a 38-year-old man was found loitering along Vuci Road in Nausori.

The two cases recorded in the Western Division involved two men who were both found drunk and loitering along the Tomuka area in Lautoka.
