A 40-year-old truck driver has passed away in an accident in Koroboya, Vatukoula yesterday while the police still attempt to retrieve his body.
Police say the man from Lautoka was driving a truck loaded with pine logs when he allegedly lost control while driving down a slope at around 3pm yesterday.
A resident of a nearby settlement alerted the authorities after discovering the truck on its side.
Police say the man was trapped underneath the logs, was unresponsive, and attempts to get him out were unsuccessful due to the site of the accident.
They say police were at the scene all night and efforts to retrieve his body will continue today.
