3 students charged with allegedly stoning a bus carrying school students coming back from Deans competition

Three students will be produced in the Suva Magistrates Court today as they have been charged for allegedly stoning a bus resulting in a 14 year old student sustaining injuries in the weekend.

The three aged 14, 15 and 17 years old have all been charged with one Count of Damaging Property Contrary to Section 369(1) of Crimes Act 2009 and one count of Unlawful Wounding Contrary to Section 261 of the Crimes Act 2009.

Meanwhile the Fiji Police Force has put together a traffic management plan to ensure the safety of students, parents, guardians and supporters of schools who will be returning from the Deans and Raluve finals this week.

Chief Operations Officer, ACP Abdul Khan says this traffic management plan includes escorting packages for participating teams.

ACP Khan adds that operations will be boosted this weekend and reiterate the warning that unruly behaviour will not be condoned.

Police are also calling on parents, guardians and teachers to be mindful of their children’s behaviour and activities to and from the tournament venue and be considerate of other members of the public.
