The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions confirms that 3 rape cases were discontinued in June 2020 due to false complaints while 1 case was discontinued as a 7 year old boy could not recall the alleged incident.

There were two separate incidents where a 20 year old man and a 28 year old man were charged with the rape of a 16 year old girl and a 17 year old girl, however, both cases were discontinued after the victims admitted to making false complaints.

The DPP’s Office says a 22 year old man was charged with the rape of a 19 year old woman, however, this case was discontinued due to a false complaint.

It has also been confirmed that a 74 year old man was charged with the rape of a 7 year old boy, however, this matter was discontinued after the child could not recall the incident.
