A 30 year old labourer of Narata Village, a 44 year old farmer of Komave Village and a 40 year old farmer of Biausevu Village have passed away following a horrific accident in Sigatoka.

Police say two vehicles collided head on at around 2pm yesterday in Valley Road, Sigatoka.

A 14 year old female student, a 49 year old woman, a 40 year old farmer and a 37 year old farmer are still admitted at the Sigatoka Hospital.

One of the passengers was treated and discharged.

In another accident in Labasa, a vehicle went off the road and collided with a street light along Bulileka Road in Vatunibale last night.

Police say due to the impact, seven passengers were injured where five have been admitted to the hospital and two were treated and discharged.

Chief Operations Officer, ACP Livai Driu says they are concerned with the number of accidents occurring on our roads.

ACP Driu says while they sympathize with the family, they are calling on all drivers to drive with more care and with that responsibility that their passengers lives are in their hands.

He is also calling on all drivers to be vigilant during this time because of the school holidays, and many children will be around enjoying their break.
