24 year old and 16 year old charged with alleged murder of Tavua taxi driver

A 24 year old man and a 16 year old boy will front the Tavua Magistrates Court today for the death of the Tavua taxi driver, whose taxi was found left abandoned at Dokanaisuva.

Assistant Commissioner of Police-Crime Mesake Waqa says on the 1st of June, 2024 at Matalevu, Tavua in the Western Division, the two allegedly aided and abetted in the assault of Nitesh Kimar Chand which caused his death.

The 33-year-old taxi driver was earlier reported missing.

Police said Chand's body was found in Tavua.
