2023 Coca-Cola Games : Top names qualify for 800 metres finals

Get ready to witness some tough contests in the Coca-Cola Games 800 metres senior boys and girls as top names have qualified for tomorrow’s finals.

Ilaita Matadradra of Nakasi High School looked strong in heat 1 of the senior boys division today storming home to claim first place while Ratu Kadavulevu School’s Ratu Tuili Mataika came from behind to claim first place in heat 2.

Alefina Volavola of MGM High School claimed first place in the senior girls 800 metres heat 1 and will expect a huge challenge from Melania Turaga of Jasper Williams High School who also made a strong finish in heat 2.

In the intermediate boys division 800 metres heats, Samisoni Kaitu of Holy Cross College and Abaramo Ratucove of Marist have both confirmed their places in the final after winning their respective heats.

Rusila Tabuyawa of Naitasiri Secondary School will be looking to win gold this year after a strong performance from her in the heat to book a place in the final.

The 800 metres finals will start at around 10.50am tomorrow.
