2 men accused of murdering a 29-year-old man from Caubati have been remanded by the Suva High Court.

25-year-old Leone Matai and 42-year-old Semi Tamanivalu appeared before Judge Justice Usaia Ratuvili this morning.

DPP lawyer Simione Seruvatu told the court that they need time to file the information and disclosures.

The State has been given time to access and propose sureties.

Seruvatu also told the court that Tamanivalu has not filed a bail application and has been given until today to file for a proper application.

The case has been adjourned to 30th May.

The victim died in his Caubati home from injuries sustained during an assault on the 4th of May.

The police had earlier stated that the investigators had established that the two accused persons, were security personnel of a supermarket in Suva, and had allegedly assaulted the victim as they suspected that he was stealing.

The victim sustained serious injuries which was confirmed in the post-mortem results as the cause of his death.
