163,364 people have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, AstraZeneca so far, and the Head of the Vaccination Taskforce, Doctor Rachel Devi says they will continue to rollout the vaccination on a daily basis.

Speaking on our Straight Talk on COVID-19 Program, Doctor Devi says in the Suva-Nausori corridor alone, over 9,373 people have been vaccinated over the last two days while they have vaccinated over 18,000 people in the Western Division.

This means over 27,000 people were vaccinated in Viti Levu over the last two days.

Doctor Devi says with the batches of doses arriving from Australia and then from New Zealand, they can vaccinate at least 80,000 people in the country a week.

Doctor Devi calls on people to continue to check out the daily vaccination program, and please ensure you do get vaccinated when the Health Ministry team is in your area.
