14 charged for sexual offences in December

14 people charged with 41 counts of sexual offences in December.

There were 14 victims of whom 7 victims were under the age of 18 years.

There were 3 male victims and 11 female victims.

According to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, a 56-year-old man was charged with 2 representative counts of rape and one count of sexual assault of his 12-year-old grandniece.

There was one incident where a 35-year-old man was charged with 5 counts of rape and one count of sexual assault of his 14-year-old stepdaughter.

The DPP’s Office says a 29-year-old man was charged with 4 counts of rape of his 17-year-old niece while in another incident, a 38-year-old man was charged with the rape of his 17-year-old cousin.

A 20-year-old man was charged with the rape of his 10-year-old cousin while in another incident,a 23-year-old man was charged with the rape and sexual assault of his 18-year-old cousin.

There was one incident where a 35-year-old man was charged with the rape of his 29-year-old wife.

A 22-year-old man was charged with four counts of rape of a 22-year-old woman. The accused was a friend of the victim’s husband.

There was one incident where a 60-year-old man was charged with the rape of a 63-year-old woman whom the accused met through Facebook on the pretext of owning a flat which the victim could rent.

A 19-year-old man was charged with the rape of a 20-year-old woman. The accused and the victim were university students.

An 18-year-old man was charged with the rape and sexual assault of a 16-year-old boy from his school.

There was one incident where a 55-year-old man was charged with five counts of rape and five counts of sexual assault of an 18-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy from his village.

There was one incident where a 27-year-old man was charged with the defilement of a 14-year old girl.
