123 police officers have left the Fiji Police Force this year, but according to the Acting Commissioner of Police, Juki Fong Chew, it is not affecting their operations as they are trying to manage with what they have.

Chew says these officers have gone abroad or looked for greener pastures.

He says they have a fair bit of challenges in terms of officers on beat patrol.

Chew says they will have officers who will be passing out next month, and they will try to address this challenge.

He says this is the same challenge they have had over the years, but they still managed as they cannot tell the people they are short on manpower and they will not be attending to the report.

The Acting Commissioner further says sometimes police posts are left empty because they have to attend to reports, but they fail to put a notice on the door that they are out and how they can be contacted or contact the Command Centre.
