10 USP students receives Norway Pacific Climate Scholarship Programme

10 PhD students of the University of the South Pacific today received scholarships by the Norway Pacific Climate Scholarship Programme where they will be the first cohort under this programme.

All candidates are from the Pacific 12-member countries of USP and the programme received 32 applications altogether.

The 10 confirmed candidates include 4 recipients from Fiji, 3 from Tonga and one each from Tuvalu, Solomon Island, and Samoa.

These 10 candidates will begin the programme in Semester 1 this year which starts next Monday

The Norway-Pacific Ocean -Climate Scholarship Programme was launched today at the University of the South Pacific.

Three of the candidates joined virtually on zoom this morning.

The Norway Pacific Climate Scholarship Programme representative says they will continue to work together with the pacific countries in cooperation with the programme which students are part of it now.
