WAF announces water rationing after low raw water flow to Balevuto Water Treatment Plant

Residents relying on the Balevuto Water Treatment Plant in Ba need to prepare themselves as the Water Authority of Fiji has announced water rationing due to low raw water flows from Waica Creek to the Plant.

WAF says valve operations will take place from 10pm to 4am daily to recover adequate water levels at the dam during off peak hours.

They say this measure ensures that residents in the affected areas of Nukuloa, Vatusui, Toge, Balevuto, Tabataba, Naruku, Moto Top, and Babriban will receive a fair share of water where water carting trucks will be on standby to assist affected areas during this period.

WAF is urging residents to minimize water use for activities like irrigation, and invest in storage containers or water tanks to secure backup water supply.
