Operation Sasamaki team uproots more than 7,000 plants believed to be marijuana in Natewa

More than 7,000 green plants believed to be marijuana were seized by the Operation Sasamaki team in the Northern Division.

Police say a raid was conducted in the Qaranibali farming area in Vusasivo, Natewa.

They say the deployment of a drone led to the discovery of the farm with more than 7,000 plants believed to be marijuana, ranging up to over 4 meters in height. 

Police say the seized plants will be analysed.

Meanwhile, a team of officers from the Criminal Investigations Department and Internal Affairs Unit will depart for Kadavu soon to conduct the investigation into the allegation of damaging property raised.
 
The Fiji Police Force says they will maintain their commitment to the conduct of a thorough investigation, with regards to claims of alleged abuse of authority against police.
