Marist to battle Natabua while Grammar to take on QVS in Deans semis

Defending champions of the Vodafone Super Deans Under 18 competition, Marist Brothers High School will take on Natabua High School in the semi final while Suva Grammar School will take on QVS in the other semi next Saturday.

Marist beat Ratu Kadavulevu School 23-18 in the last under 18 quarter final this afternoon at the HFC Bank Stadium. Both teams were locked 8-all at halftime.

Marist showed sheer determination in the second spell to score 15 more points and shrugged off a late comeback by RKS in the dying stages of the game.

RKS scored 10 points in the second half but this was not enough as Marist held their ground to win.

In the other under-18 quarter finals, Suva Grammar School defeated Cuvu College 16-11, Natabua High School edged Lelean Memorial School 13-12 and QVS thrashed Nasinu 25-7. Meanwhile, in the U14 grade, RKS defeated Nasinu 25-5, Marist overcame Ba Pro 22-0, Grammar beat Tailevu North 25-12 and Lelean beat CMF College 13-7.
