Donation of $15,000 provided to PM’s Relief Fund

The Indian High Commissioner to Fiji, Padmaja presented a donation of $15,000 to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.

This assistance is initiated through the concerted effort between India's High Commission in Fiji, and India’s renowned Public Sector Undertakings namely Bank of Baroda, Life Insurance Corporation of India (LICI) and the New India Assurance Co. Ltd (NIA).

Padmaja says they are pleased to make this timely contribution towards Fiji at such trying times.

She says the assistance is also in recognition of the commendable work by the Fijian Government to increase their reach to help people and communities who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the government, Permanent Secretary to Office of the Prime Minister Yogesh Karan says the assistance given signifies the enhanced bilateral cooperation in advancing the development priorities of Fiji and India.
