Hard work has paid off for Titilia Tabilai Boladuadua after scoring more than 400 marks out of 500 in her Fiji Eighth Year Examination.

The Year 8 exam results were released today, and Boladuadua was in high spirits after collecting her exam results at the Ministry of Education result centre.

She scored 407 marks out of 500. Boladuadua, who went to Narocake District School in Gau, says she is overwhelmed after seeing her results and she knew her hard work would pay off.

She says she had faced poor internet issues during her preparation for the exams which she wanted to utilise for research purposes.

Boladuadua adds she had also signed up for extra classes to enable her to prepare well for the exams, as she wanted to make her parents proud.

Jeremaia Volavola, the parent of Francis Volavola from Suva Primary School, says he is not surprised with the results as her daughter performed well in her annual exam.

Volavola says her daughter scored the highest mark in English after reading books and watching movies.

The happy parent said her daughter is keen on joining Adi Cakobau School this year.

Another student we spoke to said he was not pleased with his results but he will be working hard to improve it this academic year.

The student who wished to remain anonymous, says he has not given up and will continue to focus on his studies.
