It was a moment of joy and happiness for 68 people as they found employment after the opening of the Road King Farm Fresh Produce Processing Facility in Taveuni.

The facility is the lone exporter on the island which has become a beacon of hope for farmers on the island, providing state-of-the-art facilities and a rewarding price for their produce.

Managing Director Atish Prasad says this was his dream for the people of Taveuni so that he can assist and create better opportunities for the local farmers.

Prasad says they export 27 different products involving fresh and frozen items to several companies every week.

He says with a dream to help his people, the local entrepreneur increased the buying price of dalo from $1.50 to $4 per kg ever since their inception two years ago.

While opening the facility Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka says the facility will not only benefit the people of Taveuni but Fiji as a whole.

He says through the company's efforts, the prime products of Taveuni would be tasted fresh on the table of many people around the world.

He acknowledged Fiji's bilateral partners, Australia and New Zealand, stakeholders and members of the community for helping Prasad transform his dream into a reality.
