With less than 12 hours to go for the lockdown to begin in Suva and Nausori, people are still seen rushing to supermarkets to do some last-minute shopping and police were called to assist in certain areas in enforcing COVID-19 health protection guidelines.

There are long lines of people from this morning outside major supermarkets in Suva like Max Value in Flagstaff, New World in Damodar City, Shop N Save in Nabua, New World in FNPF Plaza and MHCC.

Many people started lining up from around 7 this morning.

Long lines of people are also seen at the carpark of Damodar City trying to get into the Vodafone and Digicel outlets to cash out the $90 COVID assistance.

Police also assisted security and staff in making sure that people are adhering to social distancing and wearing of masks.

People are also lining up outside MHCC past the Nabukalou Creek through into Cumming Street.

Please practice COVID safe guidelines when you leave your bubble to go for an essential run to the supermarket.
