Leader of the People’s Democratic Party Leader, Felix Anthony

The Leader of the People’s Democratic Party Leader, Felix Anthony said he cannot recall the amount of board fees he was paid when he was on the board of Fiji National Provident Fund from December 2007 to 2009.

When questioned on the total amount of board directors fees paid out to the six member board in 2007, 2008 and 2009 on Straight Talk with our News Director Vijay Narayan last night, Anthony said he cannot confirm the amounts stated in the independent audited accounts which is prepared by chartered accounting firm, KPMG.

Anthony served on the FNPF board from December 29th, 2006 to 23rd June, 2009.

Although the audited accounts clearly state that consolidated board directors fees in 2006 was $569,000 compared to $941,000 in 2007, the PDP Leader maintained that he cannot confirm the amount of fees he was paid out.

Anthony stresses that the board fees payments were not increased although the independent audited accounts show increased payments were made to the FNPF board directors.

This is part of the interview from Straight Talk.

Meanwhile it was confirmed in 2011 that total board directors’ fees of the FNPF have been significantly reduced from $90,000 in the year 2007 to $27,000 in the year 2010.
