23-year-old steals $1,000 to give to her blackmailer, no conviction recorded

A 23-year-old woman who stole $1,000 on the 30th of October last year to give to her blackmailer has pled guilty but the court has not recorded any conviction against her.

The university student appeared before Magistrate Yogesh Prasad this morning, where she pleaded guilty to a charge of theft.

The complainant mentioned in her statement that the student had a habit of stealing.

However, the student informed Magistrate Yogesh Prasad that she is still being blackmailed by an unknown person.

The 23-year-old told the court that she had reported the matter to police, but they only advised her to change her phone SIM.

She claims that the person is also stalking her and nothing has been done.

Magistrate Prasad has ordered the Sergeant present in the courtroom to have the Cyber Crime Unit look into her complaint, as the issue was affecting her.

She has been counselled by the court.
