Artika Sharma, Ajay Kumar, Ravinal Anand and Sanjay Kumar will take their plea on June 12th after being charged with attempted murder in relation to the alleged kidnapping of a 20-year-old woman and the assault of a 61-year-old man in Lautoka.
The four accused appeared in the Lautoka High Court last week after the charges were upgraded from acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm following a review of the evidence.
It is alleged that the group forcefully removed the 20-year-old woman from her home in Saweni, Lautoka, following an argument on February 25th this year.
It is also alleged that they attempted to murder the 61-year-old man after he intervened to save the woman from being kidnapped.
The State has filed the Information and Disclosures.
The accused persons’ bail has been further extended.
The four are charged with one count of attempted murder, two counts of kidnapping, one count of assault causing actual bodily harm and one count of damaging property.
