JP calls for vigilance after falling victim to viber scam

Justice of the Peace and Nasinu Nari Sabha President Lalita Kumari was devastated to discover that her Viber account had been hacked by overseas scammers, resulting in more than $1,000 being fraudulently obtained using her name.

Speaking to fijivillage News following the Public Consultation on Online Safety in Samabula today, Kumari says she was shocked to become a victim of such a scam.

She revealed that the incident occurred while she was in New Zealand and described the experience as both surprising and distressing.

Kumari says her online accounts have been targeted on multiple occasions and that she has raised her concerns with the Online Safety Commission.
