Adi Shakti Nav Durga Mata Temple committee appeals for information after break-in
A community is seeking information that could lead to the arrest of suspects who allegedly broke into the Adi Shakti Nav Durga Mata Mandir in Kanace Road, Valelevu stealing items worth about $3,000.

Temple Committee Member Mohit Kumar says the perpetrators allegedly stole a sound system worth $1,600 and mic, a mixer and tools last week.

He says they escaped in an illegal taxi, and the driver has given details to Police of where they stopped.

While speaking to fijivillage News, Kumar says the perpetrators forced entry into the sacred premises by breaking through the interior walls, causing significant structural damage.

He says this is unfortunately the latest in a series of targeted incidents that their place of worship has had to endure.

Kumar adds if you noticed any suspicious behaviour in the vicinity of the temple, possess CCTV or dashcam footage from the area, or have any information regarding the stolen sound equipment, please contact the temple committee immediately.

Police are yet to respond.
