Sundar pleads not guilty of killing and dismembering his grandfather

The man accused of killing his grandfather and dismembering his body in Lutu Village, Wainibuka last year has pleaded not guilty.

Charles Laxton Sundar is charged with one count of murder.

Suva High Court Judge Justice Usaia Ratuvili had found Sundar fit to stand trial following a psychiatric evaluation.

It is alleged that Sundar slit his grandfather’s throat and dismembered his body with a caneknife on the 12th of July last year.

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions has told court that Sundar confessed during his caution interview and the defense counsel will not be challenging it.
