14 people charged with 43 counts of sexual offences in May, 9 incidents where the victims and the accused were related to one another
14 people were charged with 43 counts of sexual offences in the month of May this year, and the concerning issue is that there were nine incidents where the victims and the accused were related to one another.

According to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, an 81-year-old man was charged with four counts of rape and two counts of sexual assault of his 12-year-old granddaughter.

There was one incident where a 41-year-old man was charged with nine counts of rape of his
14-year-old stepdaughter.

The alleged incident started when the victim was 8-years-old in 2020.

The victim is pregnant as a result of the alleged abuse.

A 42-year-old man was charged with the rape and sexual assault of his 11-year-old niece while
in another incident, a 33-year-old man was charged with the rape and four counts of sexual
assault of his 13-year-old niece.

A 23-year-old man was charged with the rape and sexual assault of his 14-year-old niece, while
in another incident, a 24-year-old man was charged with the attempted rape of his 28-year-old
sister-in-law.

A 34-year-old man was charged with the rape and sexual assault of his 14-year-old cousin while
in another incident, a 38-year-old was charged with the rape of his 32-year-old cousin.

There was one incident where a 70-year-old man was charged with three counts of rape and
three counts of sexual assault of a 10-year-old girl.

The accused is known to the family as he was working with the victim’s family at the time of the offence.

A 30-year-old man was charged with the rape of a 23-year-old US national (a work colleague)
after a drinking session in 2025.

There were 28 counts rape, two counts of attempted rape and 13 counts of sexual assault.

There were 14 victims of whom nine victims were under the age of 18 years.

Two cases were discontinued due to insufficient evidence, and after the victim admitted to making a false complaint.
