Police issue stern warning after Nadi incident involving children and youths

Serious concerns have been raised after an incident in Nadi where hundreds of children and youths are seen loitering at night and a brawl also taking place.

Some of the youths are also seen hanging from a building.

Speaking to fijivillage News, Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations Kasiano Vusonilawe says the behaviour of the youths is of great concern and their officers in the Nadi district have been directed to revisit communities and settlements in the area, and to reposture operations as we head into the school holidays, and conduct awareness on the need to address the behaviour of these young people.

ACP Vusonilawe says ahead of the Coca-Cola Games, their officers are moving around visiting schools and institutions where students are being billeted, and are conducting regular patrols at locations where students are participating in various educational and sporting activities, in all divisions.

He says they are calling for a all hands-on approach in ensuring the safety of our young people, and constant reminders to be issued, that once they cross the line, the law will take its course.
