Police are urging parents and guardians to strengthen communication with their children and know who their friends are as the school holidays approach.
This comes after two missing persons reports lodged on 18th April involving a 14-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man were closed after both returned safely to their families.
Police say officers from Nasinu and Valelevu Police Stations carried out further inquiries into their whereabouts before the cases were closed.
As students prepare for the school break, Police are reminding parents to emphasise the importance of staying in contact with family members and keeping communication lines open.
They are also encouraging parents to know their children’s friends, establish contact with their parents and maintain those connections.
Police say this will allow families to quickly cross-check information with each other if a child does not return home as expected.
