As investigations continue into the circumstances that led to the violent incident where a group of youths allegedly went armed in a vehicle and caused trouble with some youths of Raiwai in Suva this morning, the Fiji Police Force stresses it will ensure all those involved will be arrested and face the consequences for their actions.

Following the incident, two men are in police custody while another is admitted at the CWM Hospital.

All are 19 years old and allegedly reside at Rewa Street.

Chief Operations Officer ACP Abdul Khan says the suspects managed to escape in a getaway vehicle which the Southern Division Operations Team pursued.

He says the suspects abandoned the vehicle at Mawa-raka Road, off Sukanaivalu and fled the scene.

Khan adds another dedicated team made up of officers from the K9 and Police Special Response Unit have been directed to arrest everyone involved.

He further says investigators are pursuing some leads and while the investigation is in its initial stages, they can confirm that a group of youths from Nabua allegedly had the intention of confronting and instigating violence against a group of youths from Raiwai.

He says the Nabua youths who were allegedly armed turned up to the scene with the intention of instigating a fight because they were angry about an incident that transpired during a gathering the night before.

Khan say the group were however outnumbered and fled the scene in another vehicle which was later found abandoned in Nabua.
