The Fiji National Provident Fund has paid out a total of $467 million to its members in the 2021 to 2022 financial year, a decrease of $33.8 million from 2020.

While speaking during the FNPF Member Forum, CEO Viliame Vodonaivalu says this can be attributed to the normalisation of unemployment withdrawal as members return to work.

While speaking during the FNPF Member Forum, CEO Viliame Vodonaivalu says this includes COVID-19 employment assistance.

Vodonaivalu says since 2020 when the COVID assistance was introduced, they have paid around $220 million from members account and $186 million has been topped up by Government and the total payment today is around $406 million.

He says the Fund is administratively and financially capable to meet their commitment to the members.

As at the end of June 2022 they have a total membership of 398,593.

The total number of pensioners was 7,922 at the end of the financial year 2022.
