Fiji Showcase 2024 has set new records with the most number of people visiting the annual event and the most number of trade and exhibition booths.

Communications Fiji Limited has announced that 95,285 visitors attended the recent Fiji Showcase exceeding the previous record of 92,000 in 2017.

CFL General Manager, Charles Taylor says it proves, once again, the marketing power of our five leading stations FM96, VITI FM, Navtarang, Radio Sargam and Legend FM and Fiji’s leading news website fijivillage. The event also generated huge economic activity and consumer spending in the country over the 9 days.

Taylor states that not only was the number of visitors a record, but the number of exhibitors at Fiji Showcase 2024 also exceeded any previous event.

Fiji Showcase started at the Suva Civic Centre in 1986 as the “Home and Leisure Show” and since has been held annually, apart from a break in 2020-2022 due to COVID-19.

The event takes place at the Vodafone Arena for 9 days featuring more than 120 exhibitor booths, an indoor and outdoor entertainment stage showcasing local and international performers, amusement rides, and a food court.

Taylor says their international entertainers this year included Piva, a juggler who came in from Brazil, and the dance troupe MrMr from Australia.

He adds that they were particularly excited to feature a wide range of local artists including Kuki, Laisa Vulakoro, Voqa Ni Delai Dokidoki, Young Bloods, The Vou Dance Company/Circus Act, and our multi-talented radio and online personalities, amongst many others.

Fiji Showcase has, in the past, been a major contributor to the CFL Group’s financial result but the closure of the Vodafone Arena for renovations in 2018 and then COVID-19 meant the event couldn’t be held there, having a significant effect on the company.

Taylor says this result proves, despite challenging weather conditions, that Fiji Showcase is back in terms of the crowd and the marketing and retail return it delivers to our exhibitors.Preparations start immediately for Fiji Showcase 2025.

It takes Total Event Company about a year to organize an event like Fiji Showcase.Taylor says they are already receiving requests from exhibitors to reserve space for next year.

He says CFL expects an even bigger Fiji Showcase in 2025 and the goal is to crack the 100,000-visitor mark.
