Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro was called in by FICAC on the 14th of this month for an interview however he stresses that he has nothing to hide and hence he cooperated and explained the situation to FICAC when they called him for the interview.
fijivillage News has been informed that Radrodro was invited by FICAC as they wanted to interview him and he went in voluntarily.
Radrodro says he will hold on to his faith that all this madness will stop and we will prosecute those who have committed corruption rather than those merely trying to do their job and be useful members of the society.
Radrodro has said that he had opened a company called Finance Link Consultancy following his termination by the interim government when they came in 2006.
He says the company helped him to do finance consultancy work.
Radrodro says over the years, the work gained through consultancy was limited.
He says by the year 2014, once he entered parliament, he no longer did any work under the company name.
Radrodro says the period FICAC is now raising was in 2022 to 2023.
He says this was the height of elections and everyone was busy campaigning.
Radrodro says his own declaration of assets that year was to declare his own salary as an Opposition Member so at the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service, he declared as an employee under form S and explained to FRCS that the company is no longer earning any income and not in operation.
He says in fact the company is a consultancy and does not have any assets or liabilities and has an annual validity.
Radrodro says sometimes it expired and he would get a reminder from the Registrar of Companies office that if he wanted to retain the company, he should register again and he did that to allow him to keep the company name in the event he needed it again.
The Minister says it was on that basis that he did not declare this company in his declaration of assets because it had no assets or liabilities.
He says in light of what has happened, he urges all who will be contesting the elections to be careful and declare all their interests and assets carefully.
Radrodro stresses that do not be fazed, and stand to bring about a better Fiji - one based on truth and justice.
He says for now he will ask all who have believed in him to keep the faith and remember him in their prayers.
FICAC is yet to comment on the Minister called in for the interview on the 14th of this month.
