Bail extended for five police officers in Nasinu businessman assault and extortion case

The five police officers who were allegedly involved in an assault and extortion case against a Nasinu businessman have had their bail extended and will reappear in the Suva High Court on 10th September.

This is after the State has yet to serve the final disclosures to two of the accused.

The five are Semiji Puamau, Elizabeth Sautu, Koroi Lakokilepanoni, Bernard Vukivuki, and Timoci Belo.

They appeared before High Court Judge Justice Usaia Ratuvili this morning.

The five have all been charged with one count of assault causing actual bodily harm.

Four of the officers face an additional charge of theft and wrongful confinement.

Two officers face a third count of possession of property suspected of being proceeds of crime.
