Three men in custody over alleged break-in at Valelevu property

Three men have been remanded in custody after they were allegedly caught breaking into a property in Valelevu that is currently under a High Court restraining order linked to an unexplained wealth case.

Police say the three men, aged 35, 36 and 46, were arrested by officers from the Serious Organised Crime and Intelligence Department and the Criminal Investigations Department.

Police say the accused have been jointly charged with one count each of damaging property, unlawful possession of illicit drugs, and possession of property suspected to be the proceeds of crime.

They first appeared in the Nasinu Magistrates' Court on Monday, where they were remanded in custody and ordered to reappear the following day for the determination of their bail application.

The three men are scheduled to appear in court again today for the hearing of their bail application.
