The National Fire Authority is waiting for a new Decree to address the issue of their taking over of the outsourcing of the National Ambulance Services.
NFA Legal officer and board member Jagat Singh said that they have had talks with the Health Ministry and are finalizing details surrounding the training of the fire fighters.
Singh added that an aspect of the outsourcing would see firefighters right around the country undergo paramedic training.
This is after Cabinet approval earlier this year that the National Ambulance Service, which is currently being supplied by the St John’s Ambulance Services, will be outsourced to the National Fire Authority.
