The Ministry of Labour with the International Labour Organization is currently conducting a workshop to formulate a national strategy to promote employment in Fiji.
Minister for Labour, Jone Usamate said we need to closely analyze the 2013 national budget.
Usamate added that programs have been already conducted to assist retired civil servants in the past four years to keep them in the labour force.
National Consultant, Dr Mahendra Reddy said one of the major causes of the high unemployment rate in Fiji is the traditional lifestyle when it comes to domestic duties as many households do not allow females to work.
