17 civil servants to attend workshop in Japan
Through assistance provided by the Japanese Government, 17 civil servants from Fiji will be attending a leadership workshop in Japan end of this month.

Permanent Secretary for Public Service Commission Parmesh Chand said that in government's new Strategic Framework for Change, one of the priorities of PSC is the training of leaders.

He said the workshop will be from next Monday to 17th December.

Chand highlights that in response to the retirement of a number of civil servants who held leadership positions, the commission has stepped up on the effort to ensure that all government agencies are managed by well trained leaders who can take the civil service forward during these challenging times.

The two week leadership training course in Japan has particular emphasis on leadership in the South Pacific countries and the participants are expected to be up skilled in some of the more modern styles of management and leadership.
