The nation's sugar industry has started counting costs from the recent cyclone which passed through Fiji earlier in the week.
Stakeholders are currently meeting in Lautoka to see what can be done to return the industry to normalcy.
Talks are expected to surround ways in farmers could be compensated or early payments could be given as part of the rehabilitation process.
Permanent secretary for Sugar, Manasa Vaniqi said that while damages to the industry is minimal, they are aware of the fact that farmers homes could be damaged thus affecting their production of cane.
A decision would be made on how government would move in to help these cane farmers.
