TFL denies Digicel’s claims

Telecom Fiji Limited has denied that it is indebted to Digicel Fiji Limited in the sum claimed in light of the Winding Up action taken by Digicel against TFL.

Acting CEO of Telecom Fiji, Sakeasi Seru said TFL believes that a winding up petition is not the proper way to proceed in this matter and as such the winding up petition is an abuse of the court process and is designed to damage TFL's reputation.

Seru stresses that TFL is a solvent company and is able to pay its debts.

He said Telecom Fiji Limited will take appropriate legal and commercial action against Digicel Fiji to defend its reputation and assures the public that the company will continue to provide services as usual.

The notice of winding up petition for Telecom Fiji was presented to the High Court by Digicel on the 5th of last month.

The petition is directed to be heard by the Chief Registrar at the High Court in Suva on the 2nd of December at 11am.

Digicel Fiji CEO, John Delves said they will not make any comments on the winding up petition issued for Telecom Fiji as the matter is in the courts and they will now wait for the legal process.
