Social Welfare recipients can seek cyclone assistance

Social Welfare recipients who are badly affected by Tropical Cyclone Evan can seek assistance through various social welfare programs.

Permanent Secretary of Social Welfare Govind Sami said assistance will also be provided to underprivileged children through the Care and Protection Program.

He said the ministry is working with the Divisional Commissioners to identify individuals and families to ensure they are assisted.

He said they are also working with other government ministries and DISMAC to provide assistance.
