Companies assist to move villagers

Private companies in Tavua have stepped up to assist government officials in moving villagers to their evacuation centers.

Speaking from Tavua, district officer Ravuama Nagatalevu said that the power has been shut down and they have opened five evacuation centers for people nearby the rivers and seas.

Nagatalevu added that some residents are not taking the warnings seriously and some are doing last minute shopping around the town.
